Muneyi Romeo Masibigiri, known as Muneyi, Is a 24 year old independent Johannesburg-based musician, singer-songwriter.

In 2019, after working for a few months, I made a decision to follow my dreams and pursue music as a full-time career. I did this understanding that I lived in a third world developing African country as a black male with no backing from my family. I understood the implications of leaving security behind in pursuit of what I called "chasing my dreams."

I had made so much progress as an artist in terms of growth and getting bookings, etc, until Covid 19 happened. Unfortunately, even my area of qualification outside of music, which is the film and TV industry, has taken a knock and therefore I have been struggling to raise the necessary funds needed to make music so that my band and I could continue surviving in this already hostile industry.

Besides my conviction that my music is a healing journey and that it touches lives, I also strongly believe that I am part of those preserving culture and this is what this fundraiser will enable me to do. I get to preserve the language and tradition of the Vhavenda people, while simultaneously aiding my band members and myself in living out our passions despite how the world sees artists.

The funds will go into paying for production costs on a 5-song Ep, including paying all musicians, engineers, producers and marketing there of for this project titled Makhulu.
